Movement Voter Fund is a fund of Tides Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your gift may be tax-deductible pursuant to §170(c) of the Internal Revenue Code. Please visit the Tides Foundation website for additional information.

Ways to Give
Donate online
Gifts under $5,000: Please consider giving online to help minimize administrative overhead. Payments are secured by ActBlue Charities and subject to ActBlue’s 3.95% transaction processing fee.
Donate via wire, stock transfer, or DAF
We want to make it easy for you to support local organizing groups in the way that is right for you. Contact us to donate via wire, stock, or donor-advised fund (DAF).
Donate by check
To donate by check, please follow these steps:
- Make the check out to ‘Tides Foundation’.
- Include the memo ‘Movement Voter Fund’ on the check.
- To ensure you receive a tax receipt and acknowledgement for your donation, include your name, mailing address, and email address in a note sent with the check.
- Mail the check to one of the addresses listed below.
- Complete the Tides Foundation Contribution Transmittal Form.

Donate directly to individual groups
Contact us to discuss moving gifts over $5,000 directly to specific 501(c)(3) organizing groups, bypassing the Tides Foundation.
Donate to support MVF operations
Our role is to empower and strengthen the organizing work of hundreds of local groups across the country. To that end, we re-grant donations from our donors directly to groups, unless you specify otherwise. But it takes staff and resources for us to do this work. If you believe in our work and can contribute to support our operations and internal team, please contact us.
Donate in honor of others
Our local partners constitute a movement working year-round for democracy, equity, and sustainability in the United States. A gift in honor of a loved one is one way to build our movement, by introducing new supporters to this work.
All of Movement Voter Fund’s administrative and development overhead is covered by a committed group of very generous donors who deeply believe in MVF and expanding our model. When you donate, 100% of your contribution (after transactions fees*) goes to support MVF’s hundreds of local partner organizations with financial and capacity-building support, as well as MVF’s state-based advising and expertise that directly supports local partner organizations across the country.
*Transaction fees: The Tides Foundation assesses a 3% administrative fee to support their administrative work on behalf of the Movement Voter Fund at Tides. Online donations are processed by ActBlue, which assesses a 3.95% processing fee.
