“Wait, I can give tax-deductibly?”

Our work together is long-term. If we want to be successful, we must be consistent in our commitment, in odd-numbered years as well as even-numbered.

MVF friends –

I’ve been talking to a lot of people who are horrified by Trump returning to power.

Consistently there’s a lightbulb moment when I tell them they can make a tax-deductible donation that will actually make a huge freaking difference.

They’re like… “wait, I can make a tax-deductible donation?!”

The answer is YES (contribute here!)

(Movement Voter Fund – MVF for short – is the 501c3 sibling to Movement Voter Project. We invest in year-round local organizations that are truly our best hope at advancing democracy, equity, and sustainability in the United States).

The #1 question we’re hearing from local partners: Will the money go away in 2025?

What do MVF local partners need tax-deductible contributions for?

  • Blocking the Trump agenda: tax cuts for the 1%, mass deportations, social safety net cuts, rollbacks to climate funding, and other horrible things.
  • Scaling up rapid-response plans to protect vulnerable communities.
  • Training an army of community organizers (who don’t vanish after Election Day).
  • Advancing real, tangible progress in their states.
  • Shifting the narrative through media and digital communications.
  • Developing leaders and building authentic community power that lasts.
  • Building durable, big-tent alliances that can transform entire states over time.
  • And so much more!

Our work together is long-term. If we want to be successful, we must be consistent in our commitment, in odd-numbered years as well as even-numbered.

100% of your support goes to MVF local partners and the program and capacity-building support we provide them.

In terms of big-picture strategy, there are many deeper questions we are all asking. We’ll have MUCH more to say in January, including a detailed FAQ (you can reply to this email with questions, ideas, and rants – we read your messages! 🙂

But we wanted to keep this short (for once!).

The MVF team and I are wishing you and yours a restful holiday.

May we plant seeds of hope for the coming year,

Billy Wimsatt, MVF Executive Director
(On behalf of the MVF team)

ps. Yes, we can accept gifts of appreciated stock, IRAs, real estate, planned giving, you name it. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to your MVF liaison or advisor@movementvoterfund.org if you have any questions.
